Advantage coverage — switch to Medicare?

By Terry Savage on November 08, 2024 | Insurance & Annuities

Hello, my wife and I are 70 years old and have been having Advantage coverage. We don’t have serious illnesses but based on your information we would like to see if we can replace our Advantage coverage with Medicare supplements. If it’s possible to switch, do you have any recommendations? Thanks

The way to find out is to search on Medicare.gov — You’ll want Plan G as a supplement. So search out the costs of both. It may be a lot — because at your age, they can raise the price of the supplement, even if you don’t have an existing illness. And also check out — based on your income last year and hte year before — what the monthly premium would be for Medicare Part B.
