Oh my. There are SO many different kinds of annuities. I have written about them and will be glad to add to these comments if you tell me exactly what you’re considering.
BUT — and let me make this very clear — if you’re a senior, with just enough money to hopefully tide you through your retirement — DO NOT even think about an annuity. Leave your money in teh bank in a money market deposit account or short-term CDs. Right now, you should earn at least 3.5% in either of those options.
