Ask Terry Questions Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy

By Terry Savage on March 17, 2020 | Credit/Debt

We had a major unexpected financial hardship last year and our credit cards are maxed. Being a nonessential healthcare worker, my job is likely to be cut and my husband’s job has been uncertain for a while now. We had been considering bankruptcy prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, but continued to throw what we could at the debt. Now, we’re just not sure what is going to happen…should we take a serious look at bankruptcy now or try to keep riding it out?

Immediately contact the National Foundation for Credit Counseling at 800-388-2227. That will connect you to the nearest local office. You can trust them. Make an appointment — or do the discussion over the phone. But do it now before they get jammed in the weeks ahead. They can give you the best advice, and if necessary refer you to a good bankruptcy attorney.
