Bills — buried in debt

By Terry Savage on October 27, 2019 | Credit/Debt

Well my job is cut my pay and a half and I’m behind on some credit cards about 20 grand in the whole about 25,000 in the hole do I go with the debt consolidation company what do I do and what’s the bet best that consolidation company

Terry Says

I’m sorry for your situation, but I want you avoid a debt consolidation company, because it is unlikely that you can amass enough money to pay even a discounted portion of the bills. Instead call the National Foundation for Credit Counseling at 800-388-2227. They can talk with your creditors and ask them to lower the rates, cut the penalties, and maybe even take a lesser amount (paid through the agency) to help you deal with your debt. And they will also give you advice on a budget going forward, so you don’t get deeper in debt!
