Can’t go Back to Original Medicare now that I’m sick!
I have been on an Advantage Plan for the last (3) years – after reading your scenario of these plans & having a heart procedure this year, I decided to take your advise & dump the Advantage plan & go with Original Medicare & a Supplement. I have found out that I am currently considered HIGH RISK because of the heart procedure & ONLY BC/BS will insure me at $415.00 / month!!! Can you suggest any other alternatives other than taking the risk of not having a supplement?

No, and so sorry but that’s the real problem of Advantage! When you get sick and want to switch back to traditional Medicare to get your choice of doctors, etc, you can’t get back into your old great supplement plan. That’s only guaranteed entry when you first sign up for Medicare, regardless of health at that point!
