Choosing Medicare and suppliment

By Terry Savage on July 13, 2025 | Insurance & Annuities

At 65 I took Medicare part A but stayed with my employer medical. I am now 79, getting ready to retire and would like help choosing Medicare B and supplement, going through the process of proving that I had comparable insurance those years, and I worry , now that I am older I may have trouble getting accepted by insurance companies. Can you t
recommend someone who can help me.

Terry Says

If you have had comparable full insurance up to now (at age d70 — and congrats!) then you should have no trouble getting a Plan G supplement. I recommend you go to eHealthMedicare to get advice, based on your state of residence. Don’t be afraid because it is online. They have individual agents who are licensed in your state of residence, and they will personally help you through the application process.

Also remember to sign up for Part D — a drug plan, even if you don’t take prescription drugs right now.
