Collage investment

By Terry Savage on May 13, 2023 | College Savings / Student Loans

I have twin H/S sophomore boys, I never set up savings for collage, I have 10,000 in cash savings for them, what is the best investment for the next two years with that money. Thanks

I would just put in Treasury bills in your name. Read this: https://www.terrysavage.com/t-bills-beat-cds/

It’s a little late to start investing, and risky in the short term. Do NOT put it in the childrens’ names as it will weigh far more heavily against you in the financial aid process.
This would be a good time to buy Ron Lieber’s book — The Price You Pay for College. In fact, I’ve linked to it on Amazon. Buy it now and save yourself a lot of agony, not only over money but the entire college decision. You are at the perfect time to read it.

Twins in college! Wow. If this book doesn’t open your eyes, I’ll buy it back from you for what you paid for it — and give it to someone else!!
