Credit card
Is it smart to cancel an old credit card that is not being used? And does it affect my credit score . I’ve got very good credit around 800
Thanks

Length of credit history does play an important role in your credit score. So if it doesn’t cost a large annual fee, and you’ve had it a long time, you might want to keep it.
Onthe other hand, WHEN are you going to need a high credit score? Are you planning to get a mortgage or refi, or buy a new car, or buy life insurance, or change jobs? Those are all circumstances where your credit score might be checked. But if not, and no one is going to look at your credit score, then request it be closed to save the fee. And check your credit report to make sure it is done.
