Ask Terry Questions credit card

credit card

By Terry Savage on March 05, 2024 | Credit/Debt

Reliable source about credit cards–what exactly a dispute is, what the bank does when you dispute a charge, what a conditional credit is, if a refund comes through do I have to pay the credit company for the conditional credit even though it seems like the credit company is getting both the refund plus my payment for the conditional credit? Big problem with citibank!! fraud?? creative accounting?? I am working with Prairie State Legal to resolve, but I think it is confusing them too! It seems so simple to me!! But supervisor at citibank trying to gaslight me into thinking I am wrong/crazy, and that citibank doesn’t make mistakes!! Neither did Enron!! 🙂

There are mistakes made all the time. When you create a dispute over a charge on your card, the bank will suspend the charge while investigating. Then they will get back to you promptly and let you know how they have resolved it.
If they deny your dispute, the charge goes back on your card and you pay it.
If they allow your dispute, the charge disappears.

I suggest not using that card for anything else until the dispute is resolved.

Sounds like you are in the middle of a dispute that is still unresolved. Try asking for a supervisor at the bank to handle it. And you might mention you wrote to the media and they will belooking into it if this is not promptly resolved.
Let me know what happens!
