credit cards

What is best for credit score, closing a credit card or just leave it open and not use it?
Thank you.

Terry Says

That really depends on how many other cards you have, how long you have held the card, and how frequently you have been using it. You don’t want to close your longest-held card as it contributes to the length of your credit history. But if you rarely use it, and are paying annual fees, and have other long-held cards just go ahead and close it. (Unless you are about to buy a house or car — in which case, don’t start messing around with it.)
