Credit Cards — when to close unused cards

By Terry Savage on March 14, 2021 | Credit/Debt

Is it better to close credit cards that are paid off or leave them open with a zero balance?

Terry Says

You should keep the card you’ve had longest, because longevity of credit is a key issue in your credit score. then choose the one or two cards you want to use to collect points or miles, or those that don’t have annual fees. And you can close the others, and check your credit report to make sure it says closed at the request of cardholder.
