Credit Checks and apartment applications
I’ve been trying to get in contact with Experian for a few days because when I went to apply to an apartment, the identity verification questions were really strange. There were several that did not apply to me so I indicated as such. I got locked out of my application because they can’t check my credit. I’ve never had this problem with Equifax or Transunion. How do I fix this and how do I speak to a live person at Experian about it?

Identity verification questions are designed to be strange! They ask if you lived in Omaha or San Francisco, knowing that you spent all your adult life in DesMoines! This is designed to weed out identify theft.
To get your FREE credit report from Experian, go to www.AnnualCreditReport.com and click on the Experian tab. You won’t have to sign up for protection services; this is totally free. BUT you will be asked some strange questions to verify your identity! Then know what they are doing so just fill out their online form and you can get your credit report instantly. Then if there is an error, you can immediately call it to their attention.
