my son, recently married lost his job. He has close to $70,000 in various credit cards. I am retired and want to help. What can he do and what can I do to help?

You can — and should — do NOTHING!
This is HIS problem to solve. And you are past the point of helping. You’ll need your money in your old age, for sure!
He should IMMEDIATELY call the National Foundation for Credit Counseling at 800-388-2227. That will connect him to the nearest local member agency. He can trust them, and should follow their advice.
