Are debt relief programs legit? Do they affect credit scores? Which is the best program if you recommend?

The ONLY place I recommend is the non-profit National Foundation for Credit Counseling at
800-388-2227.
If you just get counseling, it does not go on your credit report. But if you work with them through a debt repayment plan, that will be reflected on your credit report. But it won’t be as horrible as many of those for-profit companies that totally ruin your credit.
