FAFSA privacy

By Terry Savage on October 21, 2019 | College Savings / Student Loans

On your WGN segment regarding the FAFSA, you made a statement that parents could create their own ID and fill out the FAFSA information if they wanted to keep their financial information confidential from the their student. Don’t understand how that is possible since the student is responsible for completing the FAFSA under their own name and password and needs financial data to complete it. What am I missing?

The FAFSA form allows you to create two separate access IDs — and access only parts of the form related to you.  Try it! Learn more at FAFSA.ed.gov.  Here is a link to that section.
