My wife and I have CD at Synchrony Bank in excess of 250,000. I was assured that FDIC insures joint accounts at 250,000 per person or a yotal of 500,000. Is that correct? Thanks

On the other hand, there is NO reason to leave more than $250,000 in any one bank.
