go bank froze my account and wont release my money

By Terry Savage on October 30, 2021 | Wild Card

My account was frozen. I teach and my whole months paycheck is in my account. Go bank wont release the freeze. They say it is because of a dispute. I called 5 weeks ago and asked about an unauthorized charge. They froze my account last night. They said I had to send them a copy of the front and back of my driver’s license to verify myself then they would release my money. Ok, I swear I’m not stupid, but after 5 hours of being on the phone and them refusing to release my money, I did it. A whole month of pay. They won’t release it. And on top, I did the stupid thing and sent my D.L. I know better, I knew better, but they wore me down. They threatened to close my account and send me a refund check in about 5 weeks. They have my whole month’s pay. I have no money. They hung up on me 6 times or wouldn’t answer my call. They have stolen 4000.00 from me, I’m broke, and now….what do I do? They feel they can just close your account and keep your money. What do I do???

Terry Says

Oh no! Go Bank has been the subject of many fraudulent unemployment scams. And I hope this wasn’t a phishing scam. Right this minute call 1-800-CALL-FBI. Tell them you heard Siobhan Johnson of the FBI on WGN radio with me a few days ago and are following her instructions. They will assign two case officers to review this.
Just say you think you were taken by a PHISHING SCAM!

Then send me an email Monday morning, to Terry@TerrySavage.com and give me your phone, and the phone number you spoke to about this. I will get on the line with you and try to call and sort this out! But call the FBI right now — FRIDAY night. They may be able to recoup your money in case you gave out private info and passwords.
