Health Insurance

By Terry Savage on June 22, 2026 | Insurance & Annuities

My wife is/was the carrier of our health insurance. We are currently on COBRA and that will be until October 2026. We have a plan we are happy with, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois PPO. It is a wholesale plan and quite frankly their retail plan does not work for us. We are both 62 and have a home here in Illinois, and one in Arizona. We spend about half a year in each. When we go on the Illinois exchange, it covers Illinois with a PPO and Arizona for emergencies only. When we go on the Arizona exchange it offers only HMO and no coverage in Illinois. We vote, pay income taxes and have drivers licenses in Illinois but could change that to Arizona.

Do you have any suggestions on how to get good PPO insurance that will cover both Illinois and Arizona for the next 2.5 years?
