Healthcare.gov asks for more info!

By Terry Savage on November 07, 2021 | Insurance & Annuities

Saw your article this am in Chicago Tribune. Followed your instructions to website Healthcare.gov and there was not any place to “Get Ready to Apply”. They wanted all kinds of personal info, not as you stated age, zip and income! Previously when I have attempted to obtain info on these healthcare sites and given info—I now receive up to 5 calls and more emails and snail mail every day in Oct-Dec close. I am besieged with spam calls. Too bad, I thought I could trust your info. Not!

Terry Says

Sorry, several people wrote to tell me of this new requirement. Sure enough, in the ten days between writing this column and getting it into the newspapers, the website changed. But go ahead and fill out the requested information to find your premium subsidy. This is a GOVERNMENT website, and is very secure.
I know it can be frightening to reveal all this info, but they have obviously decided not to provide these estimates on an anonymous basis. The government will NOT share your information with insurance companies.
