Hiring a student loan attorney

By Terry Savage on January 19, 2023 | College Savings / Student Loans

I have a parent plus loan that I will start having to make payments this summer. I have worked in the school office for over 15 years. I spoke with an attorney regarding hiring them to start the process of student loan forgiveness. My fear is, do I really need an attorney to do this, I have been burned badly from trusting attorneys and I don’t want to make another mistake of giving a big amount of money out for nothing but more trouble in the end. Please advise! Thank you in advance.

I suggest you contact WGN regular and my expert on student loan repayments, Rae Kaplan at (312) 294-8989 or at her website.

You want to get it set up in a way that lowers your payments, hopefully, based on your income — so that you can make regular payments and get it paid off in 20 years.
I’ll say again, Parent Plus loans are the most expensive Federal student loans — by far!!
