I Bonds on death of owner
Terry, I recently inherited a 10,000 I bond my mom purchased last year. Can you tell me my options once i notify Treasury direct of her passing? How do I notify them? Where would i need to send the Death Certificate?

And a lot will depend on whether you were named as a beneficiary or co-owner on the bond, or whether you are the executor of her estate or successor trustee of her living trust.
