IDES debit card received – NOT receiving unemployment

By Terry Savage on July 24, 2020 | Wild Card

I know you’re hearing about this a lot, but I can’t reach anyone to report my situation. I received a debit card from KeyBank, but am not receiving any unemployment. I have been retired for a year. I followed your suggestion to check credit report – found one inquiry on Experion, but am unable to reach anyone there, just a recording that doesn’t work. Can’t get any response from IDES, either. I don’t know what else to do. Of course, I’m not activating the card – am just worried that something else can happen with this!

Contact the company that posted an “inquiry” on your credit report. If it was a bank, talk to their fraud department and tell them what happened.
Be sure to freeze your credit at all three bureaus.
This link will explain how to do that and connect you:

Don’t worry too much about reporting to either KeyBank or IDES — they simply aren’t set up to take all those fraud reports.
Your only vulnerability is if someone opens new accounts in your name. And they can’t do that when there is a freeze on your account.
Also keep watchng for fraudulent charges, or withdrawals, from your existing bank accounts and cards.
