I think they are a waste of money! Buy a simple universal life policy and have it illustrated for you at the minimum guaranteed crediting rate. Brokers make them look cheap by “Assuming” that a higher return will apply to the investment side of the policy. Then you get older and find out there is no investment value left in the policy — and the premiums will jump a lot – just at the time you can least afford it!
