irs 2020 tax refund

By Terry Savage on October 02, 2021 | Wild Card

In June of this year, I had my 100th birthday and have been trying to find out why I have not received my tax refund for 2020. It has been 20 weeks since I brought my 1040-SR tax form to the post office to be stamped and mailed to the IRS with a direct deposit to my checking account at my Chase Bank and still it has not been received . I have called the tax refund hot line (800-829-1954) some 20 times, only to be told they have no information. This is very disturbing because I do not know if someone illegally received my refund, or it was lost. I don’t know what I should do. This is causing me sleepless nights. Please help.

Oh, Walter –please don’t lose sleep over this. A LOT of people are still waiting for their refunds –especially those who filed a paper return and mailed it. But at age 100, this is really not fair.
So I will make you a deal Please wait four more weeks — and if you still haven’t received it, send me a personal email to Terry@TerrySavage.com. I promise to bring it to the attention of my IRS contact!

In the meantime, click on this blue link to the IRS website — It will take you directly to the place where you can track your refund online. Do that, and let me know if you still can’t get any info:
