KeyBank card — my benefits, or fraud?

By Terry Savage on July 24, 2020 | Wild Card

My daughter filed for unemployment. She received a piece of mail from Keybank Card Ops, PO Box 6419, Cleveland, OH 44101-1419. Is this the same Keybank you talked about? How do you know if the card you received is actually from Unemployment, where would it come from? Trying to help my daughter. Thank you Terry.

If she actually filed and was approved, then this is her benefits — most likely! Just in case, I would suggest that she activate the card and IMMEDIATELY withdraw the money and just take the cash (safely, please) and move it into her checking account.

The problem with this fraud is that it has made many people afraid to access their legitimate benefits. Those are most likely safe to be left on the debit card and withdrawn as needed. So this is just a precaution till they get things sorted out.
