Leaving my savings to adult children and grandchildren… who have not spoken to me for 25 years
I am an 88 year old mother and grandmother… I need a reasonably priced attorney near 60525 to assist me if I should leave my savings to my children and grandchildren who have not spoken to me for 25 years.
Any comment would be appreciated. Thank you.

Whew — I can recommend an estate planning attorney, or show you how to find one. But an attorney can do the documentation, but NOT make the decision for you.
So, first let me ask you: What are your alternatives to leaving this money to those people who have ignored you? Are there some real charities to which you’d rather donate?
And more importantly, before you go to an attorney for an estate plan, have you figured out who will be your will executor? Who do you trust to handle things after you die? And is there someone to whom you want to give a healthcare power of attorney while you are alive??

For a recommendation of a local estate planning attorney, go to your bank trust department near you. They will know of attorneys in your area. Or search on this site:
