Long term care insurance

By Terry Savage on July 08, 2020 | Insurance & Annuities

Terry – Hello! I have another question for you. What is your opinion on long term care insurance especially in Illinois. We started this insurance almost 2 yrs ago. Then last summer we got a letter from state of Illinois in regards to these type of policies, which we did not understand. Reached out to our agent and kept getting out off…there was “something” we needed to do in a certain time frame according to her. Well it’s halfway through this new year and she has left that company, and we still don’t know if we should cancel these policies or not. I’m only 54 in good health, and my husband is 59 in good health. Thank you again for your time. Sincerely,

Terry Says

I’m a fan of long term care insurance policies — and I put my money where my mouth is. BUT, in recent years there were substantial premium increases in “traditional” long term care insurance policies. Now the industry has come out with “combo” life/LTC policies, which make more sense. The premiums can’t rise — and if you don’t use the care portion, you have life insurance for your beneficiaries.

Please call my trusted expert Brian Gordon, and Murray A Gordon Associates, at 800-533-6242. They deal ONLY with LTC insurance. I trust them 100% to look at your existing policy, tell you whether it makes sense at this point to keep on with it — or help you choose another policy that makes more sense.
You can use my name, or not, as I get nothing out of this but the satisfaction that you will be well and honestly treated.
