Ask Terry Questions Long Term Care Options

Long Term Care Options

By Terry Savage on October 29, 2024 | Insurance & Annuities

Hello, I did take your advice and looked at the Brian Gordon Associates site. I trust your advice. I’m 72 will be 73 in March. I’m still working full time. I’m single, divorced one year ago, no children. It looks like there are long term options, (hybrid), I don’t know what that is. I’m financial secure now but since my mother is 93, I might make it into my nineties. Can you give me your opinion or what options you see worth looking into and possibly signing up for. My mother is at the point for going into an assisted living and her funds are very limited. I would like to be prepared when that becomes my reality (hopefully) in 20 years. I work from home and listen to you every week. I trust your opinions and love when you get sassy. Thank you

OK, so let me respond by saying I trust Brian Gordon 100%. He will be able to present the options available to you. Since you already see issue with your own mother, you know that you don’t want to be stuffed into a Medicaid=funded nursing home — which is the current only alterative, since Medicare provides very little in the way of home health care for basic issues of daily living.

You need an entire plan — not so much for your estate (who gets what when you’re gone) but since you have no children and no spouse, you need a plan for care in your old age. A LTC insurance policy also provides a bit of that kind of help. Talk to Brian and listen to his advice.
