What are the open enrollment dates for Medicare in 2024 ?
Do I have to simultaneously sign up for the Medicare supplement I want to have at the exact time when I sign up for Medicare? Thank you, Terry , and for your help on WGN radio to we listeners.

You should sign up immediately upon ending your employment — in fact set it up a couple of weeks in advance, so there is no gap in coverage — assuming you are age 65. for first-timers there is no “open enrollment” period.
And yes, at the same time, go to www.Medicare.gov and get a supplement, preferably plan F. If you sign up for your supplement within 6 months of taking Medicare Part B, you cannot be turned down for the best plan (G). And also sign up for part D the prescription drug benefit — even if you are not taking any prescriptions.
