Medicare

Can you clarify if you can switch from Medicare advantage plan to Medicare, as per below…

Yes, you can switch from a Medicare Advantage plan back to Original Medicare (Parts A and B) during the Medicare Annual Open Enrollment Period (October 15–December 7), the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (January 1–March 31), or through a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) triggered by specific life events, such as moving out of your plan’s service area. Your new coverage becomes effective on the first day of the month after you make the switch.

Terry Says

That’s only HALF of the issue! You can switch back to Original Medicare — BUT YOU MIGHT NOT QUALIFY FOR A GREAT SUPPLEMENT! If your health has changed, the supplement plan G — the best one — might not take you! YOu’ll have to settle for a supplement that offers less coverage!
So it’s wise to check to see if you qualify for a good supplement — and understand the monthly premiums (which rise every year) before considering this change.
