Medicare Part B Special Enrollment Period

In your October 31, 2021 article in the Hartford Courant “Medicare open enrollment is here. Choose wisely” you mention that ‘If you are still working and covered by employer health plan, you can delay enrolling in Medicare (sic B) until your retirement or until that plan ceases to cover you’. Could you please point me to the Medicare Section that allows that delay … until that plan ceases to cover you? I have a Hearing with SS/Medicare to appeal an earlier decision by my local SS Office.

A lot depends on the size of your company. If it has fewer than 20 employees, then you are required to sign up for Medicare and it becomes the supplement to your company plan.
