Medicare prescriptions — switching Part D plans

By Terry Savage on October 31, 2020 | Insurance & Annuities

Hi Terry, I have had the blue cross medicare prescription plan for many years and I am not on any medications. I want to switch to United’s $23.60 plan. If I suddenly needed prescriptions next year can I go back to the Blue Cross without any penalty and would they then accept me? Thank you for your help

Terry Says

You definitely SHOULD review the costs of all Part D plans right now! You can switch every year. If you start taking meds, then you’ll list them and the dosages and do the search — and choose a plan that’s least costly during next year’s open enrollment period.
Start at Medicare.gov — using their Part D Plan Finder.
