Medicare Supplement
Hello Terry, I just watched the podcast on Medicare, was hoping my question would be addressed.
We have Aetna supplemental that we signed up for in Illinois, and now we live in Florida. Is it
worth comparing Part G plans with different companies to see if we can get a lower premium. I know that all Part G plans will provide the same benefits. We love having Part G, but the premium increases every year. We pay $200 and $225. Any thoughts?
Medicare.gov said they can’t give an opinion on this. Thank you so much for your time.
Last year I switched my Part D to no premium and it has worked great. I do take Xarelto, but
I get it from Canada , so I don’t go through my Wellcare part D. thanks again, sorry for the long email.
Terry Says
First of all, even though your supplement will pay providers anywhere, if you want to make sure your Florida residence is well-documented, (for estate and income tax purposes), I suggest you change your Medicare address, and supplement policy to your Florida address.
But you’ll want to make sure that you are getting the exact same plan G, with no medical upcharges for your health conditions. Yes, premiums do rise every year, on every policy. And yes, since they all cover the same things, not much to compare.
But that said, if you would like help reviewing the switch to a Florida plan, I suggest you contact Thom Dillon at JT Medicare Solutions https://www.jtmedicaresolutions.com/ for advice.
