mortage assistance program
I have read the new American Rescue Plan. In it there is monies for Mortae assistance, hoa fees,and utilities. I currently am in forebearance on my mortage. my understanding from reading the law is there should be assistance in illinois,.. Supprise Suprise no on seems to have an asnwer as to when the program will start and what the qualifiers are. i have cntacted IDHA and not have an anweres they are having a program for renters. can you invistigate and advise maybe on Joan Espitio show on WCPT. I am sure that i Cant be the only one with these questions. and yes i am such a geek i did read the bill lol thanks be healthy and safe Joe

City of Chicago Mortgage Assistance

Financial support is available to City of Chicago homeowners who have experienced a financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic and are having difficulty paying their mortgage. Applications are being accepted now.
• The maximum amount of assistance available is $3,300.
• Grant amounts awarded will be based on the amount needed to bring the mortgage current.
• Eligible homeowners will have the assistance paid directly to the mortgage servicer.
PLEASE NOTE: If you received a mortgage assistance grant from NHS of Chicago or the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) last year (2020), you are not eligible for this mortgage assistance program.
