Parent Plus Loans
I converted my parent plus loans to SOFI to take advantage of lower interest rates but then when I applied for forgiveness I was denied. Did in make a bad move for forgiveness?

Well, you did get a lower rate. And under what program did you think you would get forgiveness?? If you’re thinking of the public service loan forgiveness program, forget it. Only 205 loans have been forgiven in the first 13 years of the program! It’s a nightmare — and you have to certify your job every year, lots of rules. It’s not working at all.
And that’s the only way parents get pLUS loans forgiven. So I’d say you did the right thing. Now work very hard to make double payments every month!
