Recently Divorced Stimulus checks
We received our 1st Stimulus checks direct deposit but since we have gotten divorced and I am no longer on the account where our 1st check went. When tracking my check it says it got deposited into that account but my Ex claims it was sent back because we are both not on the account. Is there any truth to this or is my Ex just making me wait? How can I check on this if my Ex is not being honest? Thanks.

That is a tough one. If the account still exists, it likely got deposited — unless you filed a separate tax return last summer for 2019. So ask him to PROVE it by showing you his January statement! And remind him this is Federal TAX FRAUD if he keeps a stimulus meant for you! There is a place to report that in one quick call to the IRS. And it would cause him far more than $600 in aggravation from the IRS!
