Redeeming I-Bonds
I have five I-bonds worth about $3500 each. My bank, 5/3, will only redeem bonds less than $3000 per day. Do all banks have this limit? They told me to mail them to the Treasury . That doesn’t seem safe to me.

Yes,that’s how it’s done these days. Banks don’t want to handle paper bonds anymore.
Watch this video at TreasuryDirect.gov to learn how to redeem paper bonds. Be sure to mail them by certifiedmail, return receipt requested.
