Social Security/Medicad Impact

By Terry Savage on November 13, 2023 | Insurance & Annuities

Hello Terry! Are there any impacts to Medicaid benefits if you take social security early at 62, as Medicare isn’t available until 65? Thanks,

Terry Says

No impact. But you still need to provide for your own health insurance from age 62-65. Are you sure you can’t keep working for three more years– just enough to get the health insurance?
If not, go to https://www.healthcare.gov/ and see what premium you’d have to pay for Obamacare, based on your income.
