Student loan forgivness

By Terry Savage on October 20, 2022 | College Savings / Student Loans

Hi Terry, I have a loan that I thought was a Plus loan but my servicer says it is a FFSL, I have been paying on this loan for approximately 15 or so years when inquiring through my servicer states we do not qualify for any forgiveness but we could apply for a consolidation loan which might help, however when I told them that I’m retired and paying with my S.S. And pension they said we do not qualify for forgiveness or repayment, I did continue to make monthly pmts through covid. Can you please help me understand any of this? I don’t want to take a consolidation loan if there is no benefit. Thank you Terry, I appreciate how you make everything simple to understand when I listen to you on the radio! Thanks again

I want you to contact Student Loan expert Rae Kaplan at 312-294-8989. I’m betting she will figure something out for your situation. Those lenders don’t want to help — they get paid to keep people in debt!!!
Let me know what happens. Tell Rae I will post the answer when she figures it out!!
