Tax refund
My daughter filed taxes for 2019 and has not yet received her refund or stimulus checks. She was told months ago that she was being audited because she had not filed taxes for the previous two years when she was a law student and had not income. She has tried going online to check the status and is getting a message that she has to call, but when she calls, no one answers. Is there anything else she can do?

She is going to have to wait that one out. Many people are. BUT she should immediately — and electronically — file her 2020 return, with direct deposit bank info. And if she didn’t get the stimulus checks — both $1200 and $600, she should claim them as a credit on line 30. And be sure YOU don’t claim her as a dependent! Read THIS ARTICLE for instructions.
