Unemployment Compensation from lost job last fall
Hi my son is 21yrs old he got terminated from his job in 2019 Sept. (4-19 start) even though it’s late he hasn’t been able to get employment anywhere can he still apply for unemployment benefits? Thank you your awesome on Channel 9 news Chicago

Well, the rule says he had to earn $1600 in the 12 month base period and at least $440 in the second highest earning quarter of that base period. BUT, he should have filed when he lost his job. I’m uncertain of whether they would accept his application now. It’s certainly worth a try!
