Investing in gold via IRA or 401K account
I have moved a large amount of my IRA investment into treasury to protect IRA value but not sure this will keep up with inflation. Can I invest into gold via my IRA as gold has been able to keep up and surpass inflation.

Your IRA can buy gold stocks (mining companies) or ETFs or mutual funds. Read the above for details.
In your company 401k you are likely limited to the funds they offer, unless they have a brokerage option.
