401K — should I cash it out

By Terry Savage on March 22, 2025 | Financial Planning / Retirement

I am 65 years old, turn 66 at the end of June, planning to retire at the beginning of 2027. Should I close out my 401K and put it in savings or money market account?

Terry Says

Don’t close it out! YOu’ll pay taxes. But DO roll it over!

Once you do the rollover, you can put it in a government money market mutual fund. That will keep it safe from loss.
