Economic Impact Payments
Hi, I would I some help please I have had a letter sent to me by mail about the IRS Economic Impact Payments and it said I didn’t claim one of payments and then a couple of wks later now it I got an email from them now I not sure if it’s really real it says to file for a claim of the payments of 500 dollars I been missing in the third impact payments I don’t believe that email but I do the actual letter i got from the mail. what should I do to see if I really have missed any payments I’m a disabled adult who has SSI and I never worked because of my illness, my mother who works for the state as my caregiver claims me to its why I had thought I didn’t qualify anymore because she got the payment for me we thought . if could please help thank you.

OK, here’s how to check on your Economic Impact Payments. Click on this link to the IRS website. Do not fall for scam letters. There were NO $500 payments — so that’s the tipoff that the letter is a scam.
Did you get any of the three payments? Did you file an income tax return in 2019 or 2020?
If not, click on this link.
You can sign up there for the stimulus payments and possibly for the Earned Income Tax Credit, which is refundable to you.
