Pua breach
In may we were told of the possible breach in our account from pua, told we could sign up for some kind of protection, but it wouldnt start until august, crazy! You suggested we call the 3 credit bureaus to freeze or check our accounts, i dont remember which. Also how do i sign up for protection through the wonderful IDES and is it safe to give all that personal information online or phone either, considering how this whole unemployment has been handled? Or am I better off just leaving it alone? I even hate to get more involved with IDES if not necessary, thanks for your valuable advise. I always try to listen to you on WGN

Yes, IDES is a mess. Read this article, use the links to freeze your credit report at all three bureaus. And CHECK YOUR CREDIT REPORT at at least one bureau. make sure you recognize all the accounts listed — And since bank accounts are NOT listed on a credit report, check recent “inquiries’ to see if there are any from banks. That might imply that someone tried to open a bank account in your name.
Then stay on top of your existing credit cards and bank balances. That should do it!
