Refund status 2019 taxes
My 16 year old son filed his first tax return with turbo tax. Because it was his first return he couldn’t file electronically. And he printed them and mailed them to the irs in April . We have not yet received his refund . Since June,
We have been checking irs where is refund status. The website cannot provide any info for us. The website further states do not refile
Or call because they are behind with limited staff. What is our next steps?

That’s not a surprise. A LOT of paper returns arrived just when they sent everyone home because of the pandemic. They are paying interest on refunds back to April 15th. And they recently put out a bulletin that that they are catching up. So it should come soon! PS the interest check will come separately from the actual refund.
