Retrieving lost CDs from bank
Wondering what the steps we need to do to try and get our cds from the bank. The bank was First United Bank. Located in Crete, Illinois.
We purchased the cds in Dec. 2006. Matured in July. 2007.
One is for 3000.00 and the other is 2500.00.
The bank has been bought out by Old Plank Trail which a Wintrust out of Rosemont, ill.
When we went to the bank they said they would to have someone research for them. They replied that their system showed nothing. I then asked them again they said they changed their system from the old one. They then redid the research and said there was nothing they could do.
I checked I cash.gov and didn’t find anything there. I’m not the greatest with computers as we are in our late seventies.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my goodness. YOu left these CDs at a bank and never got a 1099, reporting interest? Never got a notification that the CD matured? Don’t have any old bank statements showing those CDs???
How do you know when you opened them — or when they matured? Please write back and give me any clues you can.
Without any kind of paper record, it will be impossible to find this money, except for going to the Icash website.
