stimulus

By Terry Savage on February 22, 2021 | Wild Card

hello, I filed with h&r block electronically, on jan 6, on line 30 there was 1200 this is the first year I have filed in 5-6 years. No one has claimed me this year on their taxes. I printed my return with refund of 1200. When I filed my state in february my fed. taxes went to 00 refund. I called irs and they said if I was a dependent on someones tax return in 2018 and 2019 I cannot get this stimulus. Why did the refund amount change on fed return that I printed in january of 1200 to zero. confused

Are you sure you were filing your 2020 return? Those weren’t accepted by the IRS until February 12th. Go back and check to see that HRB didn’t file your 2019 return! If that’s what happened you need to file your 2020 return. And if they filed your 2020 return it couldn’t be accepted until February. Please get the details and post again.
