Stimulus check
My husband and I filed our 2019
taxes on 2/19/20.
He then passed away on April 10,2020.
I have checked with website “Get my Payment/IRS.com. They responded with correct account
number at our bank and say we are
eligible and will recieve a letter after our check is sent. Question is when will we get it. Also since my husband died in April ,2020 will he still get a check?

As I noted recently in another post nearby from a widow — your check has gotten caught up in the IRS bureaucracy. They belatedly realized they were sending checks to deceased people — so then they put a hold on all checks that had a deceased SS number (they started cross=checking SS records!). They know that leaves many widows and widowers without their own well-deserved check. And they told me this week that they are “working on this problem” and hope to have it resolved in August!
