Ask Terry Questions credit freeze denied

credit freeze denied

By Terry Savage on October 03, 2017 | Credit/Debt

While two of the three credit reporting companies quickly and easily processed my request for a credit freeze, Experian processed my wife's request but denied mine. I have no idea why and it is impossible to find a human to clarify. Submit your info by the internet -NOTHING, try to call the number you have provided -NOTHING BUT A PRE-RECORDED MESSAGE, try to reach local or national customer services - NOTHING, BUSY SIGNALS (all hours of the day and night). Why should I have to mail them anything when I have no clue why it was denied. No one to reach out to who responds.

All of the bureaus have experienced delays and mixups.  My suggestion is to send a certified letter, return receipt requested, to the bureau in question, requesting a freeze.  That way you won't stay up worried about this one chink in your armor!
